Illusions of Time: Lisa McCarty / Stephen Schiff
May 6, 2010 - June 13, 2010

Illusions of Time explores two photographers' approaches to the concepts of passed time and memory. Lisa McCarty's work is about nostalgia and reflections on the change of the home and environment that her grandparents live in - her technically altered images feature Polaroid transfers that are lush with color. Stephen Schiff's haunting photographs were shot along the Georgetown waterfront after a massive snowstorm. When found in December 2008, they were scanned at high resolution, and the resulting digital images were processed to repair the damage that had occurred over the years.
