Born in Dallas, Texas, now residing in Virginia, Kevin plays guitar and sings about love, death, diners and most everything in between. His music is a gumbo mix of Western swing, blues, traditional country, Cajun and bluegrass with thoughtful, clever, often humorous lyrics, delivered in a soft, dusty baritone. Rickie Simpkins will be accompanying Kevin on the fiddle.
Kevin released his first solo CD, “Texarkana Diner” in November 2011. Masterfully produced by Cathy Fink, the album’s title track received a Mid-Atlantic Songwriter Contest (MASC) Silver Award. Four other tracks on the album received a “Finalist” or “Honorable mention” award. Kevin is a current Washington Area Music Association (WAMA) and Songwriter’s Association of Washington (SAW) member. Over the last two years, he has been instructor and coordinator for the monthly SAW Toolbox songwriting work-shops as well as instructor for various guitar workshops.
“Kevin serves up songs in a literary Americana vein often with a touch of dry humor, sometimes reflecting hard-times, but always thought provoking and downright entertaining.” - Don Walters, host Americana Night
"Masterful…gave me chills." - Suzanne Vega
