Christal Prout and Peter Prout are an original folk/rock/Americana married musical duo based in Stephens City, Virginia. They call Winchester, Virginia home, though the duo's name is taken from the street they lived on in Detroit, Michigan when they were first married. In the three years that Chatham Street has existed, they have won 19 songwriting placements, been live on NPR radio several times, and performed in multiple states with multiple people. In September they opened for Don McLean, famous for "Bye Bye Miss American Pie", and "Vincent", at renowned venue The Birchmere. In addition, they have shared the stage Larry Keel, John McCutcheon, Catie Curtis, Christine Lavin, and many more. They were nominated for two WAMMIE Awards in 2012 (DC's own version of the Grammys) for Folk Contemporary Group of the Year and Folk Contemporary Recording of the Year for their second recording "All That Mattered". They will open for Janet Robin and for bluegrass legends Seldom Scene in April of 2013.
