Meredith Barber is a local historian and undergraduate at William and Mary. Through research at the National Archives, she has discovered previously unknown history during the Athenaeum's Civil War era including its employment as a logistics center by the Union Army.

Join artists Joan Dreyer, Ginny Smith, and Lesly-Claire Greenberg for a hands-on art workshop recommended for children ages 5 to 12. Stop by the Athenaeum between 2pm and 4pm to meet the artists and explore techniques in creating mixed-media collages while creating your own masterpiece.
